About Fireside

Flagstone Park and Playground can be found near the traffic circle at the entrance to the community. Bulrush Park and Cattail Park are both preserved wetlands encircled by walking paths for visitors. A baseball diamond and soccer fields are located in the centre of the community, next to the new K-8 school. Three more playgrounds are to come, with a 5 acre central park in Fireside’s future as well.

The Embers is anchored around a Tim Hortons and a Shell Gas station. Other business that are now open include a Fireside Dental, Maple Leaf Medical & Pharmacy and Star Liquor. Take advantage of retail conveniences and basic services close to home.

Two school sites have been designated in Fireside. One being Fireside School (K-8) which is now open. Just across the highway from Fireside is Bow Valley High School and a ten minute drive will bring you to both Elizabeth Barrett Elementary and Manachaban Middle School.

The community of Fireside celebrated its grand opening in 2011.

By virtue of its location at the Town’s southwest corner, Fireside of Cochrane is a scant 15 minutes from Calgary’s western edge. In fact, everything you could possibly need resides within a 60 minute radius:

There are 11 schools to choose from, soon to be 12 with Fireside’s K-8 opening, French immersion, Catholic and private school options along with many pre-schools. There are more than 25 restaurants and bars including MacKay’s (Alberta’s most popular ice cream parlour), recreational facilities including three hockey arenas, two golf courses and family sports centres, a movie theatre, indoor soccer field, doctors and dentists who are still taking patients, nearly two dozen parks and 30+ km of well-maintained pathways and 42 heritage buildings. Fireside offers several home styles including laned and front drive Single Family homes, laned and front drive Semi-Detached homes, Townhomes and Bungalow Villas.

Fireside of Cochrane has an anticipated completion date of 2024. The estimated build-out will include 1,500 single family homes and 500 multi-family homes.
